About Can You Stay
Quite often finding somewhere suitable to stay when you are disabled can be difficult, very often what the brochure says and what the actual facilities to assist those who are disabled or elderly, are two different things.

Canyoustay.org was founded in 2002 in order to allow members of the public who have experienced good or bad places to stay, to share their experiences with others who may be trying to find somewhere suitable to stay.

Members of the public answer a series of questions about their stay covering areas such as the room and its facilities, accessibility of the restaurants, helpfulness of staff and the availability of car parking. The answers to these questions are used to calculate the overall percentage accessibility rating which can be used to compare facilities with other venues.

Users wishing to view other reports or find a suitable place to stay can search using a number of different criteria, such as location or access rating. Each report contains contact information and general accessibility ratings of the accommodation, any specific comments made by the reporter. A detailed breakdown of the response by the reporter to each of the criteria is also available for those who want to know in more detail the facilities available.

In some instances we may contact certain accommodation for their response to the report and for updated information on the facilities available, each report will be updated with such developments, when available.

We often find that many places to stay have disabled facilities, which are of a reasonable standard however there are some vital areas that they seem to miss out on. Canyoustay.org will point out to them where they could improve in order that they can make their venue accessible to all.

Equally there are some places that offer excellent facilities for disabled and elderly people, these were not publicised enough, until now!
